Stefanovic Set to Have Surgery

February 2nd, 2006 | By: WC Bob | No Comments »

The news isn’t good for Serbia and Montenegro’s Dejan Stefanovic who will need surgery on his injuried ankle. Stefanovic hurt his leg a few weeks back and had to be taken off the pitch 15 minutes into Portsmouth’s 1-1 draw against Bolton on Wednesday.

Said Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp afterwards: “He fell awkwardly on it and we may have lost him long-term now. His ankle is the problem and he’s been putting off an operation for weeks. It is a big blow, although he still says he wants to play on, but we’ll have to see.”
